Pacific Northwest Cider Awards

AWARDS SEASON — The Pacific Northwest Cider Awards, hosted by the Northwest Cider Association, will have 38 cideries at the annual competition on June 5 at Capitol Cider. The judging is private, but you can taste the ciders the next day, June 6, at Seattle Cider Company's The Woods. Tickets are tickets available online now. [EaterWire]

WALLA WALLA The Marcus Whitman Hotel is offering special room rates from May 25 through 28. Rooms are just $109 per night and guests during the week can meet local winemakers and learn about winemaking through the hotel's "Winery of the Week" program.
