Open since Friday, Kurt Timmermeister's dairy-brimming Kurt Farm Shop is the first culinary destination to christen Capitol Hill's long-anticipated Chophouse Row. Sara Naftaly's Amandine Bakery hopes to join ranks in late June, and now comes word from Matt Dillon's crew that we can also expect Bar Ferd'nand II—which will be called the "Upper Bar Ferd'nand"—roundabout (they hope) June.

Like Melrose Market's original Bar Ferd'nand (soon to be dubbed "Lower Bar Ferd'nand"), the focus of the new sibling will be wine by the glass and the bottle paired with thoughtful bites. The wine will come from family-owned, small production winemakers from across the world. The food menu will focus on dry aged and cured meats cooked simply in the shop's open fireplace, and raw, cured, and smoked local seafood. Finally, the team tells Eater to expect a small bread and pizza program, and a selection of pickled and roasted vegetables.
