It's been months since word came that a new Tex Mex restaurant planned to set up shop in a Broadway eatery space left vacant for three years after suspected arson. Now this Wednesday, Stan Moshier and Lori Campbell (the team behind Madison Park's Bing's) hope to inject a new kind of heat at 611 Broadway with Rooster's Bar & Grill, opening at 4 p.m.

Rooster's will serve up dinner seven days a week and breakfast and lunch on weekends. Expect south-of-the-border family recipes and applewood-smoked meats according to their website, with menu sections for Tex Mex, tacos, barbecue, sandwiches and more. A few highlights: Tostones, pozole soup, mojarra fritta (pan-seared tilapia with tomato, avocado, and pico de gallo), and carne asada (Angus beef skirt steak, nopales salsa, oaxaca cheese, cilantro, and sour cream). Drink-wise, they will pour tequilas, aged bourbons, local beers, and "approachable wines" aplenty.

Check out the interior before they open with these website gallery shots. Starting this Wednesday, hours will be Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight; Saturday 9 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
