If missed Ben & Jerry's annual nationwide Free Cone Day April 24, you're in luck: the ice cream chain is scooping out two free flavors, as well as climate change awareness, across Seattle the next week and a half for its Save Our Swirled Climate Justice Tour.
This giveaway doesn't take place in our area Ben & Jerry's stores, but rather through the company's wholly electric Tesla: Follow @BenJerrysWest to learn where the vehicle is headed daily, or tweet them to request a stop. One location set: the Tesla will be parked at this weekend's Fremont Street Fair. Line up there and at the Tesla's other stops through Friday, June 27, and receive your choice of two flavors: Save our Swirled (raspberry ice cream with marshmallow and raspberry swirls and fudge ice cream cones) and Tonight Dough (caramel and chocolate ice creams with chocolate cookie swirls and and chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie dough).
When people go up for their scoops, the Ben & Jerry's staff will informally share information about the issue of climate change and why the company is committed to the movement. Seattle is smack in the middle of the Save Our Swirled Tour; the Tesla just arrived from Portland and will skip over to DC next, then Hartford, CT.
