Redhook Brewery Hosting Summer Scavenger Hunt Around Seattle

And the next prize is up for grabs in the U District tomorrow

Normally, we'd say drinking then figuring stuff out don't go hand in hand necessarily. But when it comes to Redhook Brewery's #ThrowbackESB (their hashtag, not ours) Seattle Scavenger Hunt, it sounds like a cinch.

Here's how it works: every Thursday during the summer, Redhook gives clues on Instagram and Twitter to prizes hidden in Seattle neighborhoods. Followers can social media (and drive/walk/run) their way over to the designated locale once they figure it out, and get hooked up with a prize. Well, they get hooked up with an envelope that has a code that tells them where to go to get their prize — namely, at a bar that serves the Redhook ESB Retro.

The next opportunity to win is this Thursday in the UDist, with clues going up tomorrow. Redhook offers up this advanced clue to Eater Seattle readers: "Keep your ESB Retro cans ice cold this summer with a Redhook cooler! It can be all yours should you unlock the clues to tomorrow's #ThrowbackESB Scavenger Hunt, happening around the UW Campus."

The first date was June 4, so you're basically already behind all the kids who are now scavenger hunt vets. Here are the next three dates and participating bars hooking up the swag:

  • Thursday, June 18: U District (A Pizza Mart, Earls on the Ave, Shultzy's)
  • Thursday, June 25: West Seattle (Poggie Tavern, Admiral Pub, The Bridge)
  • Thursday, July 2: Ravenna (Ravenna Alehouse)
