Welcome back to Eater Seattle's Something for the Weekend column. Every Friday, you probably think the same question: Where should I eat and drink this weekend? Covering brunch, dinner, and everything in between, here now, three places to try this weekend.
Cafe Mox
Ballard's Cafe Mox is a fantastic spot to kill the better part of a day playing board games with friends. The service is incredibly friendly and the tap beer list superb. The food isn't without flaw, but it's reasonably priced and the portions are generous.
Giddy Up Burger
Giddy Up Burger's menu is based around a solid selection of beef burgers, but the fried chicken burger is where its at. The chicken is brined in the liquid from the house-pickled jalapenos, which also appear on the burger. Get some haystack onions and let yourself fall down the rabbit hole of inventive sauces here, and then wash it down with a pint or two from the well-curated beer list.
Pocket Bakery
Pocket Bakery is a pop-up for now, but look for baker Josh Grunig to hone in on a permanent location in the Central District later this year. For now you can find him at the Magpie shop on Union Street on Saturdays, which is when an array of ingenious but down-to-earth creations are available, from enormous cinnamon rolls to addicting sour dough loaves.
