Rhein Haus is at it again. Capitol Hill's busy bier hall (formerly known as Von Trapp'sannounced last year that it was setting up a second outpost in Denver, and now comes word that a third will root in Tacoma next year. The newest 13,00-square-foot Rhein Haus will be at 633 Division Avenue (the corner of N 1st St & Division Ave), across the street from Wright Park in Tacoma. Executive chef Pete Fjosne will remain at the helm and the cuisine will be familiar (housemade sausages, pretzels, etc.), but the Tacoma branch hopes to add its own brewery. In addition to Rhein Haus' own brews, it would serve other local beers and Bavarian ones, both bottled and on draft.

The Denver Rhein Haus is on track to debut by early fall, and the Tacoma branch currently plans to open spring of next year. And Rhein Haus isn't the only Capitol Hill spot expanding to Tacoma right now. Andrey Tokar's Vostok Dumpling House on Harvard also plans to open another location at 1126 Commerce St this summer reports The News Tribune, and Peter Levy (Hi-Life, the 5 Spot, and more) is planning to open an as-of-yet unnamed restaurant in Tacoma next summer in the Proctor neighborhood.
