Rejoice, Lake City: two new restaurants have just joined your ranks, the Italian Mo and Lu's plus 2C Thai Bistro and Spirits. Open as of Monday, Mo and Lu's at 12518 Lake City Way NE (formerly a bakery) is the work of owners Bruno Iezzi (New York's former Café Yola and Hawaii's former Mix Café) and Wuqin He (who helped manage Mix Cafe), and serves up housemade Italian pasta, soups, meatballs, and salads and more. The casual Mo and Lu's is largely a takeout spot, says Iezzi, but has a 600-square-foot dining room with 10 seats. The restaurant is still nailing down its hours but for now, it's open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and can be reached at (206) 362-1396.
Just down the street, 2C Thai Bistro and Spirits at 12506 Lake City Way NE appears to have opened sometime last week, according to its Facebook page, and has complete lunch and dinner menus on its website. 2C is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
