Seattle's second Mighty-O Donuts has an debut date, and some powerful festivities to along go with it. Founder Ryan Kellner's newest vegan donut store will hit 17th and Market in Ballard on Friday, August 14, at 6 a.m., and all guests who visit on opening weekend will receive a free donut, through Sunday at 6 p.m. Want more free donuts? Come dressed as a superhero any time (and preferably, all the time) that weekend and be entered in a drawing to win a free donut a day for a year. Yeah, they don't call it mighty for nothing.
The new 2,500-square-foot sweet shop will seat 50 inside and 8 to 16 outside, and will come with a parklet out front. The Ballard Mighty-O also features an exhibition bakery so guests and passersby can watch the goods being made from scratch. Regular hours will be Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m, and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A third Mighty-O is scheduled to hit Capitol Hill later this year.
