Lucky you, downtown. Empire builder Tom Douglas (Dahlia Lounge, Serious Pie, and many more) will open his nineteenth restaurant, The Carlile Room, across from the Paramount today at 4 p.m. Named for singer Brandi Carlile, T-Doug's latest at 9th and Pine will feature three-course menus designed to get theatre-goers in and out easily before show time, as well as à la carte veggie dishes and meat plates meant to be shared family style. Also expect a cheese bar, and lengthy appetizer and dessert menus. Among Douglas' restaurants, he says the Carlile Room will be most like Palace Kitchen in nature, set up so diners can come in and get a few appetizers and cocktails, or a full meal—whatever they're feeling.

Decor-wise, last we heard, the restaurant's style was designed to evoke the year 1968. Stay tuned for more updates on that and the menu. After today, regular restaurant hours will be 11 a.m. to midnight daily.
