Hawaii will soon make a stop in Rainier Beach when James Beard Award winner and TV personality Sam Choy pops up in the new Stone House Cafe (9701 Rainier Avenue S) on Tuesday, July 21. Known for his contribution to Pacific Rim cuisine, the chef that some call the Godfather of Poké runs the local Poké to the Max food truck, and is also behind Sam Choy's Kai Lanai and Sam Choy's Seafood Grille in Hawaii, and many more past restaurants and cookbooks.

At the Stone House pop-up, $70 gets you poké shooters; the food truck favorite "Poké Bomb"; chilled Kabocha pumpkin bisque; grilled Kona ahi tuna from served with ginger pesto rice, truffleyaki butter sauce, and braised local veggies; a salad; and butter mochi with coconut haupia sauce and seasonal berries. There is one seating at 7 p.m. and Daniel Pak of the local reggae band Kore Ionz will provide music. Space is limited so hustle on and grab tickets here.
