Nutty Squirrel Gelato
Nutty Squirrel Gelato has officially opened at 7212 Greenwood Ave. N. in Phinney Ridge, reports the PhinneyWood blog. This marks the second location, which launched its first store in Maple Valley. The new location is open from 12 to 9 p.m. daily and serves the shop's signature seasonal flavors of gelato and sorbetto. [PhinneyWood]
WINDY CITY PIE
Capitol Hill is now home to one more pizza spot for your delivery needs: Windy City Pie, based on 12th Avenue, reports Capitol Hill Seattle. The Chicago-reared owner Dave Lichterman serves up deep-dish pies ranging from $17 to $29 to feed 4 adults in both set combinations and build-your-own options.
Since this is a one-man show, these require some planning: Windy City currently asks that you try to order a day in advance, but Lichterman says that's just a guideline; he can often fill orders the same day. Pizzas are then delivered or available for pick up (there is no dine-in option at present), and currently the business is open "all day, every day," as Lichterman determines the demand and potentially sets hours for the future. If all goes well, he is considering a brick and mortar or food truck in the future. [Capitol Hill Seattle]
