Orfeo Scoops Up Former Vespolina Chef Katie Gallego

Gallego is the new restaurant's sous.

The just-launched Orefo in Belltown has announced the hiring of Katie Gallego as sous chef. Gallego comes off a gig as the head chef at the recently-departed Vespolina, which served its last dinner on July 24. Before heading Vespolina's kitchen, the 25-year-old Gallego cut her teeth under accomplished chef Jason Stratton at Spinasse and Artusi.

Kevin and Terresa Davis (owners of Blueacre Seafood and Steelhead Diner) opened the Italian restaurant Orfeo on August 1.
