One is tiny, one enormous: Two restaurants have been announced as opening this year, both from familiar restaurant groups. In Leschi, Daniel’s Broiler is getting a new neighbor from Heavy Restaurant Group. On Capitol Hill, a long-standing favorite will get a spruce up and become something else from The Lodge Sports Grill’s owners.
Heavy Restaurant Group Opening in Leschi
Adding to its empire, the Heavy Restaurant Group has announced a new spot in Leschi to add to an already impressive portfolio, reports Seattle Met. The company operates Purple locations in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, and Woodinville; Barrio on Capitol Hill; Lot No. 3 in Bellevue, and Cast Iron Studios event space.
The space will be a "neighborhood cafe" in the old Pert's Deli space with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and space for 50 people. The opening is set for the end of the year, if all goes right.
The Lodge Owners Coming to Broadway
After nearly 40 years, the Capitol Hill mainstay Charlie’s shuttered on Broadway at the end of June. In its stead, Capitol Hill Seattle reports that the folks behind The Lodge Sports Grille will open a restaurant in the space "definitely before the end of the year."
The company opened its original Lodge Sports Grille in Mukilteo in 2010, and has expanded to downtown Seattle, Mill Creek, Kirkland, and the stadium district, as well as a current project in Greenwood. However, CHS spoke to the company’s GM, who says the Broadway locale will not be another Lodge location.
The new owners promise to "be loyal to the space’s past" as Charlie’s, though other details are under wraps for the time being. Stay tuned for further details.
