Big news in barbecue: Mike Law has moved on from Frelard's popular Bourbon and Bones, which he opened with business partner Mike McConnell (Via Tribunali, Caffe Vita) in January of last year. Law had built quite a reputation for his fried chicken and other southern dishes at the Wandering Goose, and he plotted Bourbon and Bones as his own venture.
Now the Bourbon and Bones crew reports that chef William Belickis of Mistral Kitchen has taken over the restaurant, and the Belltown legend Scott Carsberg (formerly of the now shuttered Lampriea and Bisato, and most recently at Fran's Chocolates) has also joined the creative team. McConnell and his wife Liz remain the owners.
Bourbon and Bones is one Eater's favorite barbecue spots in town, so needless to say, it will be interesting to see how the restaurant proceeds. No word yet on where Law may be headed. Stay tuned for updates as we get them.
