Yesterday morning just after 11 a.m., four people were killed and dozens hurt when a Ride the Ducks vehicle hit a tour bus carrying international students on the Aurora Bridge. Located not far from the crash site, Canlis, Seattle's fanciest restaurant, closed to diners last night so staff could feed first responders and other city officials dealing with the incident, KOMO News reports.
On Facebook yesterday around 2 p.m., the restaurant posted: "Canlis will close tonight in response to the tragic accident . . . Join us in thought and prayer for the victims and their families."
According to owner Brian Canlis, this is the first time in 65 years that Canlis has closed its doors to diners. Deservedly, it has received an enormous outpouring of support across Facebook.
