An already Mexican food-rich block of White Center can add one more to its list: Taqueria Los Potrillos (translation: The Foals). With a dozen tables and capacity for over 50, the new sit-down restaurant opened Saturday on the corner of 16th Ave SW and SW Roxbury St. in the former home of TT's Soul Kitchen.

This is the first brick and mortar for Los Potrillos, though the company has two taco trucks: one in Renton on First Hill (2800 NE Sunset Blvd) and one on Rainier Ave, in Hillman City (6230 Rainier Ave S).

The menu features taqueria basics, including taco plates (four for $6), tortas ($6), a trio of mulitas ($7), and enchiladas especiales with rice and beans ($7). Order a side of tortillas and you'll get handmade creations made on site. Weekends promise Pozole and Menudo, but you're S.O.L. if you want to order them on weekdays. Meat choices include chicken, asada, al pastor, tongue, carnitas, birria, tripe, and beef cheeks (cabeza).

Chips are free and a complimentary salsa bar features five types of salsa, plus accompaniments like pickled jalapeños and carrots. Drinks include Jumex juices, Jarritos in bottles, Coca Cola products from Mexico, and fountain aguas frescas from El Niño.

The new restaurant anchors a two-block span that also includes two of the best Mexican restaurants: the incredible tamales and roast chicken at El Paisano and super popular taco truck, Taqueria La Fondita #2.
