Coastal Kitchen Has New Owners, But They're Not Changing a Thing

The restaurant changed hands at the end of 2015.

In the waning days of 2015, Coastal Kitchen quietly changed hands. But the new owners, who've declined to give their names, aren't changing much about the popular Capitol Hill restaurant.

According to general manager Stephanie Anderson, former owners Jeremy and Tiah Hardy sold Coastal Kitchen to a "local family with three generations" of history in Seattle area restaurants. "It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to purchase the iconic restaurant and they have no plans to change a hair on its head! We will move forward with the same management, staff, menu tours, vendors, etc., and look forward to some updates and improvements to the existing facility. We are very excited to move forward with a renewed interest and investment in our beloved business," Anderson said.

The Hardys opened Coastal Kitchen in 1993. Now that they're divested of the Capitol Hill restaurant, they can concentrate on growing their Mioposto restaurant family, which has locations in Bryant, West Seattle, and Mount Baker.

Coastal Kitchen is known for juxtaposing Northwest cuisine with a rotating themed menu from another region of the world. Right now, they're featuring Sicilian dishes, which will run through March. The restaurant will mark its 100th touring menu in April.

"We are very excited to move forward with our new partners and for yet another fabulous year at Coastal Kitchen, our 24th and counting," Anderson said.
