Last week, Eater broke the news that Nick Novello, who has been overseeing the menus at Skillet Diner Ballard and Capitol Hill for the past three years, has moved on to a gig with Lancer Hospitality.

Now comes word that Novello's replacement will be Nick Walsh, who will join the Skillet Group on October 17 as chef de cuisine. Walsh will put his spin on the menus at Skillet Diner Ballard and Capitol Hill with seasonal additions to the classic menu, including items like a burger with bacon jam and the fried chicken "sammy" with kale and aioli.
Walsh leaves his position as Century Link Field's executive sous chef, which he's held since 2013. He's also spent time cooking at Google in Bothell.
"We’re thrilled with the opportunity to welcome Nick to our team," Skillet president Jon Severson said in a statement. "We know he is looking forward to working for a local brand that’s all about creative, from scratch cooking that’s full of flavor."
