South Sound Drive-In Heads North to SoDo

Pick-Quick opens a third location on October 18

The popular South Sound vintage drive-in Pick-Quick is heading north with a new location opening in SoDo on October 18. The new restaurant will mark the chainlet's third; it also operates locations in Auburn and Fife.

Pick-Quick is a classic drive-in slinging burgers, fries, hot dogs, and all manner of ice cream floats, sundaes, and malts. The company's original Fife location has been operating since 1949 and is a simple drive-through restaurant that closes every year from December 1 through February 1 for the winter season. The Auburn spot, which opened in 2011, is larger, has seating, and is open year-round.

The SoDo Pick-Quick, opening at 2990 4th Avenue South, sports a vintage-style sign crafted by Western Neon, the same company that made the iconic Rainier "R" that once stood over the factory building that is now Tully's Headquarters. That original sign is now in the Museum of History and Industry.
