Updated: Caliburger Opens Newest Burger Bar Today at Alderwood Mall

It’s the chain’s second location in Washington

Caliburger Seattle/FB

Update, 12/27/16: You won't find boozy shakes at this Caliburger outpost because of mall restrictions. But this location does have a large screen for playing video games, just like the U District restaurant. Hours at Alderwood are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Original story: Caliburger fans north of Seattle, now’s your chance to feast on Cali-Style Fries and Cali Shakes, as the international chain opens a location in Lynnwood’s Alderwood Mall today at 11 a.m.

The first Caliburger opened in Shanghai in 2012, and it's been wildly successful, expanding around China and the Middle East and recently making inroads in the U.S. and Canada. The first stateside outpost opened right here in Seattle, last October in the U District, where you can get boozy milkshakes alongside your burgers and fries. The company, as you may recall, is modeled very closely after California-based In-N-Out — so closely, in fact, that In-N-Out sued when Caliburger launched and got the imitator to stop copying branded terms like "Animal Style" fries and "Double-Double" burgers.

Meanwhile, if you’re after the real deal, the closest In-N-Out is in Medford, Oregon, though the burger business has previously hinted at further plans to expand in the Northwest. There’s been some suspicious activity near Amazon’s headquarters in South Lake Union, but apparently signs promising an "In-N-Out Burger Coming Soon" were just a cruel piece of fake news. For now, you'll have to stick to the well-done knockoff.
