Rather than continue to do pop-ups, renowned baker Matt Tinder (Napa Valley's The Restaurant at Meadowood, San Francisco's Coi) has opened a temporary retail location for his Saboteur Bakery at 245 Fourth Street, in downtown Bremerton.
Eater broke the news in September of Tinder's plans to transform a Quonset hut in Bremerton into his bakery, and while that plan is still on, it's taking a bit longer to come to fruition. The hut needs a lot of work, and the weather has delayed construction. Meanwhile, you can find Tinder at this smaller, temporary retail space, selling pastries, bread, bagels, croissants, and more.
The long-term plan is to build out the Quonset hut as the bakery's production space, with a small retail area there too. But the main retail operation will be in downtown Bremerton, where there's plenty of foot traffic.
