The first mainland branch of renowned Hawaiian chef D.K. Kodama's Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar has arrived at Ninth and Pine. The restaurant opened over the weekend, reports Seattle Met, and apparently the bathrooms are worth scoping out.

Announced almost a year ago, the opening marks the fifth Sansei location for Kodama and his first outside of Hawaii. As far as the menu, Seattleites who have patronized Sansei on trips to Hawaii will be familiar with the sushi-and-seafood options. There's also a daily fresh sheet with dishes unique to the Seattle location that make use of locally-sourced ingredients.

The restaurant is open for dinner seven days a week with a happy hour of deep discounts Monday through Thursday. Sansei will also start up late-night weekend karaoke sometime in March.

815 Pine Street, (206) 402-4414, website. Open Sunday 5 to 10 p.m., Monday to Thursday 4:30 to 10 p.m., Friday 4:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
