Seattle's Floating Stadium Dream; Capitol Hill Station Development Deal 'Really Close'

Without further ado, we present the latest and greatest real estate news from our sister site, Curbed Seattle.

Gerding Edlen

HISTORY LESSONS—The Seattle Seahawks spent many years playing in the Kingdome and, after a brief stayover in Husky Stadium, have called CenturyLink Field home since 2002. But did you know for a brief time there was a plan to create a floating domed stadium on Elliott Bay? The Stadium District would be a whole lot different today if that had happened.

ANNOUNCEMENTS—Curbed is relaunching on February 21 with a faster, souped-up engine and a better-looking and easier-to-navigate front end. We'll be introducing some new features but we're also looking for your input on what else to include. Inquire within to see how to provide your feedback.

COMING SOON—Developer Gerding Edlen says it's "really close" to finalizing a deal with Sound Transit to create a huge "transit oriented development" near Capitol Hill Station that will include housing, commercial, and community projects surrounding a pedestrian plaza. Check out what it might look like and what else is in store.
