Tour Inside Old Stove Brewing, Now Open in Pike Place Market

Vintage touches aplenty

Co-owners Chris Moore and Brian Stan opened their Old Stove Brewing Company over the weekend inside Pike Place Market. Eater visited just before the grand opening of the taproom, which is actually in a temporary location; the goal is to move to the MarketFront expansion of Pike Place when that opens next year.

Still, the team is settling in. Right now there are eight beers on taps fitted with antique stove handles and plenty of other vintage touches, like display cases with beer cans from the 30s, 40s, and 50s and a cast iron Kalamazoo stove from 1905. The taproom is lined with 16-foot community tables made from wood harvested from Moore's family's property in Michigan. And there's even a small patio space as well, perfect for enjoying this warm weather.

1525 First Avenue, (206) 660-2682, website. Open seven days a week 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
