Brimmer & Heeltap, Ballard's quintessential neighborhood restaurant, is launching its first brunch service on May 6. Brunch will be offered every Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Since opening in the former Le Gourmand space in 2013, chef Mike Whisenhunt and business partner Jen Doak have made a name for themselves by balancing a strong cocktail menu with dinner-time dishes that inventively combine local ingredients and whole animal butchery. They're bringing a similar approach to brunch, with dishes like Dungeness crab salad with smoked fingerlings and a "Giant Lemon Pancake" topped with seasonal berry syrup. Expect a menu that rotates regularly, just as at dinner.
