Soon there will be yet another opportunity for poke-crazed Seattleites to get their fill of the Hawaiian fish dish: Sam Choy's Poké to the Max opens its brick and mortar location in Hillman City on May 7. Choy's food trucks of the same name will also stay in the rotation, serving places like the South Lake Union neighborhood and Chuck's Hop Shop.
Expect the restaurant menu to reflect that of the trucks, with popular island items like loco moco, kalua pork, shoyu chicken, musubi, and, of course, the wildly popular raw fish salad known as poke. The new venture is located at 5300 Rainier Avenue S.
Celebrity chef Choy and partner Max Heigh, have expressed interest in also branching out with locations in Kirkland, West Seattle, and Ballard later in the year.
The restaurant's hours for May 7 and 8 will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. From there, it will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
