Steak 'n Shake Seattle Finally Opens Tomorrow

Welcome, new burger overlords

Steak 'n Shake/FB

10 a.m. to 10 p.m., people. Remember those hours, because you don't want to show up at the new Steak 'n Shake at 10:30 p.m. tomorrow, hungry and thirsty, and miss out on Washington State's first taste of the Midwestern phenomenon.

Announced last fall with an estimated launch in December, Seattle's Steak 'n Shake finally welcomes diners Wednesday, May 25. The retro-futuristic diner chain, home of steakburgers and milk shakes, is lending its red, black, and white color scheme to a 2,800-square-foot, 86-seat space downtown that used to house Bruno's.

Franchisee Joe Fernandez has said the menu will be more concise than at some outposts, more akin to the limited offerings in Santa Monica, though a menu link on the official page for the new restaurant still jumps to the chain's full list of food. Either way, there should be beer and wine to make up for any losses.

Judging by the interest from readers, there will be a solid line of customers at Steak 'n Shake's debut tomorrow, so plan for a long wait.

1417 3rd Ave, (206) 823-3030, website. Open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
