No Anchor and Navy Strength are making progress

It's been half a year since Rob Roy owners Anu and Chris Elford announced two new Belltown projects, not-quite-Tiki maritime cocktail bar Navy Strength headed by Anu and eclectic beer bar No Anchor led by Chris. Now, though, clear signs of progress are emerging.

First, a tipster shares that both ventures will be in the Legacy Center at 2505 2nd Ave, the corner of 2nd Ave and Wall St, only a block away from Rob Roy. Liquor license applications are up for both bars, but it sounds like they may not be ready until late 2016.

Second, you can preview No Anchor through the pop-up-style One Night Only Project, which is hosting a beer dinner at Premiere on Pine on June 25. $150 gets you all-inclusive tickets for a multi-course meal from chef Jeff Vance, formerly of Belltown's defunct Spur Gastropub, with beer pairings chosen by the Elfords.

sample menu for the event ("subject to change at the chef's whim") includes such fare as aged duck breast with chicory and sour cherry complemented by Trappist brewery Westmalle's classic Dubbel, and a dessert of beetroot, strawberry, and cultured cream alongside Anchorage Brewing Company's funky Galaxy White IPA. Restaurant artist Patrick Nguyen, known by his Instagram handle @dozfy, will create keepsake menus for guests.

As for Navy Strength, Anu's giving a sneak peek in a mixology class kicking off Pike Place Market's culinary series At The Table, but tickets are already sold out. Keep your eyes peeled for future events, though, as the Elfords continue to get the word out.
