Saint Helens, chef Josh Henderson's American-style brasserie by the Burke-Gilman bike path, is jumping onto the brunch bandwagon. Starting this weekend, brunch will be available every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The casual cafe opened in February as part of a wave of restaurant openings by Henderson and his Huxley Wallace Collective. The company also launched its Great State Burger chain with two restaurants, as well as well-regarded taqueria Bar Noroeste.
Still to come from the prolific restaurateur: Scout and The Nest, a restaurant and a rooftop bar, respectively, opening soon in the new Thompson Hotel downtown; the Poulet Galore rotisserie chicken window; and Vestal, where Henderson will personally be cooking.
Saint Helens has been serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks since it opened, with items like tartines, baguette sandwiches, burgers, pastries, and a few whole-meal plates. The weekend brunch menu will run along those same lines. There's also a large outdoor seating area overlooking the Burke-Gilman, with 40 seats and a fire pit.
