If you were hoping to eat at the popular Korean fried chicken and karaoke establishment Stars in the Sky in the next few weeks, you're out of luck — the Edmonds restaurant is closed temporarily, with a sign on the door that reads:
Thank you for coming to stars in the Sky. Due to store maintenance and small renovation, we will be back on end of May. We will be back with same fresh and delicious chicken AND new menus under same management. We apologize for any inconvenience.
A Facebook post also promises that the restaurant will return "with better quality chicken and upgraded food."
Stars in the Sky opened in Edmonds in 2012 with private karaoke rooms and a menu revolving around fried chicken with flavors like Asian garlic sweet, sweet and spicy, and extra spicy. Soups, udon, rice cakes, and various small plates make up the rest of the menu.
Diners will have to wait and see how much of the experience will change after the reopening. Meanwhile, if you're looking for an alternative spot for Korean cuisine, Eater's handy map of the area's best Korean restaurants has you covered; you don't even have to go far, as the same strip mall that houses Stars in the Sky is also home to the map's Hosoonyi Korean Restaurant.
