There was a minor uproar on Reddit last week when a user asked if anyone knew what was going on with NiteLite Lounge downtown. "Friends who live nearby said it's been closed since last Friday. I fear the worst...," Redditor lordsah sharedAnother user lamented, "No! It is the last real bar in [downtown] Seattle."

Similarly, May 3, a Yelper, petulant at having been cut off "without good reason" at what he otherwise considers a flawless dive bar, suggested the place was closed. Eater has been unable to reach anyone at the establishment, rarely a good sign.

All is not lost, though, according to Tracy, who answered the phone at The Moore Hotel, which houses NiteLite. The hotel employee told Eater the bar is closed for renovations: "I don't know the proposed timeline for it, so I'm not sure when they're planning to reopen," but "the plan is still to reopen at some point," she confirmed.

Tracy didn't know any more details of the type or extent of renovations, but her words could give nervous fans some hope to cling to in these uncertain times.
