Home of 418 Public House Sold

But the Ballard business says it has "a lease with several years left on it"

418 Public House/FB

West Woodland Neighborhood reports on its website that 418 NW 65th St has been sold to "412 NW 65th L.L.C." for $1,150,000. The property in Ballard's eastern end includes street numbers 412 to 418, where architectural firm S+H Works will be in charge of designing five townhouses plus five "live/work" spaces with ground-floor retail storefronts below residences. It sounds like positive a development for an already happening stretch.

Most notably, though, this parcel is home to 418 Public House, an Eater favorite for its Mexican soups in particular. What does the future hold for the business?

Don't count the restaurant out just yet; 418 Public House tells Eater it has no plans to shutter anytime soon. "While we do have new landlords who are making plans for future development of the property, we also have a lease with several years left on it, and aren't making plans to close the business." You should have plenty of time to enjoy the eatery's cozy patio.
