Pioneer Square's Delicatus, which serves a massive menu of sandwiches, soups, and salads, is branching out after six years on First Avenue, reports Seattle Met. The restaurant will open a second location on the ground floor of Benaroya Hall downtown (200 University Street), in the space that formerly housed a Starbucks. The target opening timeframe is mid-July.
Expect a menu similar to that of the original, with a selection of the most popular soup, sandwich, and salad options, plus additional sandwich offerings that take inspiration from the new symphony hall home. And while the Pioneer Square spot has a full bar, this latest spot will have only beer and wine.
The downtown venue, with only 15 seats inside, will be smaller than the Pioneer Square spot. There will, however, be an outdoor patio for an additional 20 people that will include a glass roof and outdoor heaters.
Delicatus is also starting a new partnership with Bavarian Meats, which will distribute Delicatus Wooden Table Products like roast beef, corned beef, pastrami, turkey, ham, and a wine-cured Tuscan salami.
