Help Wanted
Vestal, South Lake Union's long-awaited Josh Henderson project where the prolific chef/restaurateur himself is planning to spend time in the kitchen, is hiring now (bartender, line cook, server). Look for an opening the week of August 15. [E]
First Word
Speaking of hiring up, LA-based recruiter DD Factor is seeking a kitchen manager for a new "chef driven concept" in downtown Seattle. The company's listings are confidential so there's no word on what restaurant applicants would be getting themselves into, aside from something with a bit of a seafood focus. [E]
Reopening Report
The Angry Beaver, Seattle's one and only hockey bar, finally reopened late last month after suffering damage from the Greenwood Gas Explosion then being burglarized. The bar is already hosting plenty of events; keep track of them on Facebook. [FB]
The Shutter
Pike Place Market retail staple The Spanish Table is closing its 21-year-old Seattle store in early September, when its lease ends. At least you can still order online, though, as the company's three California locations will remain in operation. Nearby sibling spot Paris Grocery will close at the end of its lease, as well, though that date hasn't been announced. [FB]
