Dumplings and pizza continue to be all the rage in Seattle, and Vuong Loc of Pomerol is capitalizing by opening a restaurant that offers both. China Pie will sit next door at 125 N 36th and is aiming for an October opening in Fremont, reports Seattle Met.
Loc’s new restaurant will be outfitted with a wood-fired oven for seasonal and Asian-inspired pizzas with toppings like fish sauce caramel pork belly, egg, grana padano, and coriander pesto. And then there are the dumplings, served in broth or in chili sauce, as well as seasonal salads.
Loc and his wife, Tricia, opened Pomerol in June of 2014 after selling their Queen Anne restaurant Portage. Loc was also an owner of Greenwood's Pig 'N Whistle, now The Angry Beaver's home, and Madrona's June, where Ethan Stowell’s Red Cow lives.
