Peek Inside Wood Shop BBQ's New Central District Restaurant

Complete with a sweet patio for summer

Fans of Wood Shop BBQ's food truck can now indulge in its smoked meat deliciousness at a new brick-and-mortar restaurant on Jackson St.

The restaurant is currently serving a full menu of meat like ribs, pulled pork, and brisket by the pound, barbecue sandwiches on brioche buns with housemade pickles and slaw, and sides like smoked jalapeño mac-and-cheese and kale caesar salad. There are also the mac-and-cheese bowls popularized on the truck: rich, cheesy goodness topped with brisket, pulled pork, chicken, or portobello mushrooms, plus pickled red onions and barbecue sauce. Down the line, expect brunch and happy hour bites.

Take a look inside the restaurant, which sits next to another Central District newcomer, The Atlantic, and across the street from Standard Brewing. The space is small, with most of the seating clustered around the bar, but there's a generous patio with picnic tables for nicer weather, and the option of ordering to-go. Hint: Standard lets patrons bring in their own food.

2513 S. Jackson St, website. Open Monday to Friday 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to midnight. Food service ends at 10 p.m. or when the food sells out, whichever comes first.
