Kevin and Terresa Davis, the husband-and-wife team behind Steelhead Diner, Blueacre Seafood, and Orfeo, have opened a coffee-and-doughnut cafe called Tempesta at 2107 3rd Avenue in Belltown, next door to Orfeo.
As of today, the cafe is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with coffee, tea, and doughnuts in flavors like lemon glazed. The Davises have had possession of the cafe space since they opened Orfeo in August of 2015, but haven’t had time to open a new business in the space until now. Doughnuts made sense, Terresa says, as the couple and their four children are fans of the treats.
The cafe borrows its name from a painting called La Tempesta, by the Renaissance artist Giorgione. The Davises drew inspiration for Orfeo’s decor from the painting, a reproduction of which hangs in the restaurant’s lounge.
Kevin and Terresa launched Orfeo in the former home of Brasa, which sat empty for five years.
