To push back against the current administration’s immigration policies and to remind the United States of the importance of immigrants — undocumented or otherwise — a national strike is underway today, called “A Day Without Immigrants.” The restaurant industry employs a particularly large number of immigrants; as such, there is a large and growing list of restaurants nationwide that are doing things differently today.
Below is a (surprisingly short) list of Seattle restaurants that will be closed or adjusting to show solidarity in some other way. Eater will do its best to update this list with any new information as it becomes available; please direct alerts to the tipline.
CLOSED

Y regresaremos a nuestros horarios normales el Viernes 17th febrero .
graciasDear friends and costumers,
Thursday February 16th we're gonna be closed.
ONE DAY WITHOUT IMMIGRANTS.
- Tat’s Deli (Pioneer Square) — Via Twitter:
We're supporting immigrants nationwide & are closing the deli today. Sorry for any inconvenience, be back Fri.
- Pam’s Kitchen (Wallingford) — Via Facebook:
Pam's Kitchen is joining the growing list of WA restaurants who are participating in and/or supporting their employees who are participating in 'A day without immigrants' boycott Thursday February 16th. We have stayed pretty neutral during and after the elections, but the recent attacks on civil liberties, and especially immigration executives that seek to attack immigrants have hit too close to home. This is a country of immigrants, since our opening in 2006 the hard working folks that help to make Pam's Kitchen an integral part of the Seattle community have hailed from all over the world. We are proud of all the countries and cultures that we have come from, but this is our home and we have a right to be here.
A day off hurts a small business like ours financially but, staying quiet is no longer an option.
Thank you for your continued love and support and for making Pam's Kitchen a part of your lives. We will be open regular hours on Friday. One love, one heart...
Good morning Gracia fans!
As some of you may have heard, today Thursday February 16th is national "Day without immigrants".
Gracia stands in solidarity with all of our immigrant employees and all other immigrants protesting today.
We join and support today's boycott and hope you will join us too.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to see you when we open our doors again, tomorrow Friday February 17th.
Thank you.

ALTERNATE PROGRAMMING

We will then be participating in the General Strike #F17. Here is what we stand for at Biscuit Bitch: We stand for Women’s Rights, LGBTQIA Rights, Immigrant’s Rights, Native’s Rights, Civil Rights, Reproductive Rights, Worker’s Rights, Disability Rights, Religious Rights, Black Lives Matter!, Environmental Justice and Ending Violence. Hear us LOUD, the Bitches do not, and will NEVER stand for hate. WE STAND FOR LOVE!*Just a reminder, we know some folks are not going to agree with the above. I would ask commenters to keep comments in the vein of my post: Against HATE, For LOVE. For all people, not just the ones we agree with. You do have a right to express your opinion, whatever it may be.
As many of you know, today is the Day Without Immigrants strike. Hecho will be open for dinner service only starting at 4pm. We support much of our staff staying home today, so as a result, Chef Danny will be putting together a special pop-up menu. A quarter of tonight's sales will also go towards the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project here in Seattle. We are proud of our diverse staff and proud to be able to do business in such a wonderful city. Thank you for all your support!!
