Back in the dark, chilly days of January, Eater brought you news of a new ice cream and sweets shop called Street Treats opening in the Central District. Hope you’re feeling a little warmer, because the shop is officially opening tomorrow, April 22, at 2407 E Union St, Suite C.
This is the brick-and-mortar version of a food truck by the same name started by Diane Skwiercz, who has mainly been serving her from-scratch ice cream and build-your-own ice cream sandwiches through catering gigs at parties and weddings.
Street Treats will offer its usual menu of customizable ice cream sandwiches, ice cream scoops, cookies, bars, and cookie sandwiches.

The space will offer items to-go only, as there’s not room for dining in. However, Skwiercz pointed out that there’s a parklet half a block away in front of Cortona Cafe. Look for Street Treats to start out with hours from Wednesday through Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m., with the possibility of expanding hours during warmer months.
