What started in 2014 as a farmers-market staple is growing into a full-fledged brick-and-mortar, as Megan Janes has found a permanent home for her Seattle Pops popsicle business in Wallingford.
Janes tells Eater she’ll open her shop at 1401 North 45th Street, in the former home of Smash Wine Bar, this June. Hopefully the occasion will be kissed with some thematically-appropriate warmth and sunshine.
Seattle Pops are crafted of fresh fruits, cream, and milk. Flavor staples like Zesty Lime, Very Strawberry, Kona Coffee, Chocolate Banana, and Coconut Cream will make appearances alongside new additions and seasonal flavors. Patrons will also be able to watch the popsicle-crafting process through a window into the kitchen.
If you’ve grown attached to cooling off with a Seattle Pop while shopping for local produce, though, don’t sweat the change: Janes says she plans to continue sales through catering, farmers markets, and various events around town. Follow the company’s progress on its website and Facebook page.
