Henry’s Tavern Planning Two New Offshoots This Summer

One for Bellevue, one for South Lake Union

Upscale beer bar Henry’s Tavern, a go-to for pre- and post-game revelry thanks to its location near Safeco Field, announced this morning it has plans to expand to South Lake Union and Bellevue. Both additions are slated to open late this summer.

The chainlet got its start in Portland, which still maintains a location; other branches are located at the Portland International Airport and in Denver and Plano, Texas. The SoDo location opened in 2013.

The new South Lake Union pub is being built out in the base of an Amazon tower at 501 Fairview Ave N (at the intersection with Republican). Expect a much smaller footprint than the sprawling SoDo spot, though you’ll still get to choose from 50 beers on tap a menu of sandwiches, burgers, and wok dishes. To suit the Amazon crowd, the restaurant will also offer grab-and-go lunch options.

The Eastside outpost is coming as part of the Lincoln Square expansion. That Henry’s will include a “custom frost drink rail to keep pints cold and a second-floor outdoor patio with unparalleled views of downtown Bellevue and the urban streetscape.” Eastsiders will have 100 taps to choose from, plus promises of health-conscious menu items to offset the pub fare.
