Navy Strength Coffee and Juice, the coffee shop and juice bar next door to Chris and Anu Elford’s Navy Strength tiki bar, is now open in Belltown. The hours are limited at the moment, with drinks available only from 8 a.m. to noon. Starting on Wednesday, July 26, the shop will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and staff will begin serving food in addition to the non-alcoholic drinks menu.
Right now, the limited menu has espresso drinks using beans from Olympia Coffee; chai lattes and a cold brew “dark and stormy,” both on nitro; and a handful of juice blends called “restoratives” which are made from the fruits and syrups that also appear in the cocktails next door. For hotter days, there’s also a frozen juice blend called Road Trip to Somewhere that combines matcha, mint, pineapple, and lime. Chris says the food menu — with items like wraps and salads — will likely be added next week.
The Elfords, the husband-and-wife team behind Belltown’s respected cocktail bar, Rob Roy, and much-praised No Anchor beer bar, opened Navy Strength’s tiki bar in March. Just as its tropical- and travel-inspired cocktails rotate on the regular, so will the coffee shop’s beverages.
