Oregon’s vegan Next Level Burger chain, serving all manner of meatless hot dogs, burgers, shakes, and sandwiches that get vegetable-lovers hot and bothered, makes its Seattle debut on Friday, August 25 inside the Roosevelt Whole Foods. The restaurant will occupy a prominent spot at the front of the grocery store.
Next Level Burger specializes in so-called "plant-based" food, PR-code for dishes made without animal products. The chain also uses organic and non-GMO ingredients, caters to the gluten-free crowd with lots of wheat-less options, and, as in the case of this location, offers lactose-intolerant diners dairy-free shakes. Beer and cider round out the menu. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Eater broke the news way back in 2015 that the vegan chain was interested in a Seattle expansion, and the chain is eyeing still more expansion opportunities in the region. The original Next Level Burger was founded in Bend, Oregon, and the company has expanded into Portland and Lake Oswego. It’ll be in good company in Seattle, which has a fair number of satisfying vegetarian options, including vegan tiki bar No Bones Beach Club, which made the reverse trip — Washington to Oregon — with a Portland expansion this year.
