Korean street food favorite Revel and its adjacent bar Quoin will open in their temporary South Lake Union digs on February 5. The pair are closing in their current location to make way for new development.
Chef-owners Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi’s “pop-up” is landing in the former home of Josh Henderson’s Vestal. Yang and Chirchi plan to move back to their original Fremont address in 2019, once the new three-story mixed-use building at that location is completed.
Revel opened in Fremont in 2010 and has gained national recognition for items like short-rib dumplings and pork belly waffles. Yang and Chirchi have earned plenty of critical acclaim — including attention from the James Beard Awards — for Revel’s Fremont sibling as well, Joule, and for their modern Korean barbecue joint on Capitol Hill, Trove.
Vestal closed in August, along with neighboring Poulet Galore and Cantine, after just a year.
