Though details weren’t immediately available regarding the new additions to the menu, Katsu Burger fans can at least expect the reliable standards, involving beef, pork loin, even tofu patties that are breaded and deep-fried in the katsu method popular in Japan and Hawaii. Other menu items sure to carry over include the fries sprinkled with nori flakes, wasabi coleslaw, fusion sauces like miso honey mustard, and “Banzai Bites,” the restaurant’s play on chicken nuggets.
Skillet Ballard shuttered in January after two years in business. According to an official statement, the restaurant was underperforming, and a flood from a broken water main didn’t help the financial situation. Now it’s time for another exciting local chain to try out the space.
