Westman’s Bagel and Coffee, the smash-hit Capitol Hill walk-up from restaurateur Monica Dimas (Tortas Condesa, Neon Taco), finally added weekend hours in mid-March. It wouldn’t be fair to say this crucial announcement flew entirely under the radar since the bagel shop continues to sell out regularly, so obviously plenty of diners got the memo. For those who didn’t, Westman’s is now open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
That’s an extra 16 hours to line up in hopes of laying hands on rare-in-Seattle Jewish treats like Maldon salt bagels utterly buried in Willapa Hills Cheese cream cheese, bacon, egg, and American cheese squashed by a soft roll, chocolate rugelach with Caffé Vita coffee, twice-baked almond babka, and more.
Thankfully, Dimas also let slip recently that she’s working on a second location of the popular cafe, which should help more folks gain access to the treats Dimas and baker Molly Westman are cranking out.
