Some of the most recognizable names in the Seattle food scene are opening outposts inside Nagoya, Japan’s Chubu Centrair International Airport this September. The openings — which include Fran’s Chocolates, Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Pike Brewing, Eltana, and Starbucks — are part of a new Boeing commercial complex called Flight of Dreams. The complex will mimic a Seattle streetscape, and the Seattle-born businesses will be joined by other Northwest-themed businesses.

The Flight of Dreams complex will show off Boeing’s first 787 testing aircraft, alongside several attractions like paper airplane making and flight simulation. The local additions will help give the entire place a Pacific Northwest feel.

A total of 14 shops and restaurants are set to open in the space. The Seattle-founded businesses will be complemented by other entities that are Northwest-themed but not founded here: a shop called Hello Seattle selling local items like Kukuruza popcorn and Jcoco Chocolates, a Pacific Northwest soup shop called Chowder’s, a wood-fired steak restaurant called Tahomafuji, a Portland souvenir shop called Oregon Attic, a seafood restaurant called Seattle Fish Market, a “bowls” restaurant inspired by the Pacific Northwest called Molnoda, and a Nagoya-based ramen shop called Fujiyama Go Go.

Pike Brewing’s contribution will consist of two separate establishments: a restaurant and beer bar outfitted with 600 pieces of beer memorabilia handpicked by founders Charles and Rose Ann Finkel, and a Pike Shop selling beer, Washington wine, and Pike goods.

The other businesses will also sell their Seattle specialties, like mac and cheese at Beecher’s and salted caramel confections at Fran’s. The Ethan Stowell restaurant promises pizza and pasta as its focus, while Eltana will serve bagels alongside full brunch, lunch, and dinner menus.
