Ballard Ave’s forthcoming wizard-themed pub, The Splintered Wand, is planning to open before the end of the year, barring any hang-ups with inspections and permitting. When its doors open in the Flatiron Building, patrons will be able to buy cocktails and British fare like pasties, Yorkshire pudding, and shepherd’s pie before heading to the second floor’s wand store.

According to My Ballard, the wand shop will operate seven days a week from 11 a.m. to midnight. Customers will be able to purchase handmade wands from Piscataqua & Balch, which selects the wood for each wand based on the buyer’s birthday. Each creation is then infused with a magic essence.

The bar downstairs will be open to customers 21 and over. The building’s third floor will have a private events space called the “Euphorium,” which will host VIP events, meetings, parties, and tarot card readings.
