Incredibly popular Taiwan-based chain, 85°C Bakery Café, is adding a new location in Edmonds. The bakery continues to expand its footprint in the greater Seattle area, with a recent addition in the Chinatown-International District, plus stores in Federal Way, Tukwila, and Lynnwood. The chain’s openings have drawn long lines for the picturesque pastries, which make frequent social media appearances. This one will likely bring similar crowds.

85°C Bakery Café officials did not give Eater a timeline on the opening at 22611 76th Ave W, #100. But the new cafe is already recruiting employees, and signage on the building has gone up, indicating an opening isn’t far off.

Nicknamed the “Starbucks of Taiwan” for its staggering ubiquity and rabid following, 85°C specializes in such treats as iced sea salt coffee and fresh breads and pastries like the Asian-style brioche buns infused with fruit and Western-style sweets like apple pie and macarons. The chain has more than 1,000 stores worldwide.
